flipkart’s PhonePe is a UPI-based payment app launched in India to make digital payments. You can create a PhonePe account by entering your bank account details and generate a UPI ID. But before you add your bank account in PhonePe just make sure that the SIM which is registered with your bank account is present on the same phone on which you have installed PhonePe App. There are three options which you can use to make payments on PhonePe:
- Using PhonePe wallet
- Linked Bank account over
- UPI Debit / Credit Card

How To Add Bank Account in PhonePe & Create UPI PIN
Open PhonePe application and tap on My Money and select Bank Account in the Payment Methods section as you can see below screenshot.
Next screen, tap on ADD NEW BANK ACCOUNT.
Now select your Bank from the list. Almost all banks now support UPI payments.
After selecting your Bank account, the application will send an SMS from your bank registered mobile number and after verification, you can see your selected bank account details like account number, IFSC code & branch name. So you have added your bank account successfully. The next step is to create your UPI PIN. Tap on SET BHIM UPI PIN.
Enter your debit card details, enter last 6-digits and valid up to (valid thru) month & year and press continue. ( You can see valid thru or valid up to date on your card front side.
Finally set your UPI PIN. An OTP will be sent to your bank registered mobile number, enter this OTP and set your UPI PIN.
That’s all, your bank account added successfully on PhonePe and you are ready to use PhonePe UPI. You can now send money to any bank account using account number & IFSC code or UPI ID and mobile number. You can also make an online payment using PhonePe from your bank account.
How To View My PhoenPe UPI ID?
You can share your UPI ID with others to receive money without revealing your account details. UPI ID can be used in UPI to receive money into your bank account, no need to tell your bank account.
To view your PhonePe UPI ID, just tap on My Profile logo.
Next screen, tap on MY BIM UPI ID.
And next screen you can check your UPI ID. You can also create your custom UPI ID (maximum 3). Make sure you setyour UPI ID as primary.
Q.1: What is UPI PIN in PhonePe?
Ans: It is (4 or 6-digits) transaction password which you need to enter when you transfer money to any bank account or make an online payment using your UPI account.
Q.2: Why i,m unable to add my Bank account in PhonePe?
Ans: Make sure your PhonePe and bank account mobile number is the same. The PhonePe will send an SMS from your mobile number and after verification, it will show your bank account linked with your mobile number.
Q.3: Can I add multiple (two) bank account?
Ans: Yes, you can add multiple bank accounts and use all accounts for payments.
